HIRE A LARGER SKIP THAN YOU THINK YOU MAY NEED
Going the next size up may cost you more initially but it may save you a lot of money and hassle in the end.

2. Consider what happens to all that waste and rubbish that you put in your skip.
We are all encouraged to recycle at home but skip hire companies are not regulated as to where they put this waste. Land fill sites are quickly filling up so the better skip hire firms are recycling up to 90% of their rubbish. Unfortunately this costs them more so often it's the case that the cheaper skip hire companies do not recycle and some even fly-tip our waste, costing us more in tax so...

TO BE MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - CHECK WHAT THE COMPANY DOES WITH YOUR WASTE, DON’T BE AFRAID TO QUESTION THE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE DIFFERENT WASTE TYPES SUCH AS TIMBER, GLASS, TEXTILES Etc…

3. How quickly can a skip be delivered?
At Skip Trans we commit to service every order within 24 hours or at the time specified by the customer.  We try to get each customer to give us a 2 hour window, for example, between 9.00am & 11.00am or 12.00 & 2.00pm.  You can request that the driver gives you a phone call when your skip has been dispatched, this is usually the most convenient resolution for customers.  Sometimes same day delivery is possible, please ask & we will facilitate your request when possible.

4. Can I have the Skip placed on my Driveway or in my Garden?
In most cases the Mini, Midi or Standard Skip will fit on a driveway or in to a garden, however, the real issue to consider is the entrance to the driveway / garden or the distance between the pillars. We would recommend an opening between 9 & 10 feet to safely allow the truck access as in all cases the truck is wider than the skip being delivered.

5. Do I need a parking permit to place a skip on the roadside?
If you live in an area where there are parking restrictions outside your property or you would like to place a skip in such an area, then you must contact your local authority in order to obtain a parking permit.

You will need to contact Dublin City Road Works Department ph: 01 2222246 for Dublin and contact us directly for Dun Laoghaire. On contacting Dublin City please quote the Skip Trans Licence No. 26.  When contacting Dun Laoghaire, quote Skiptrans licence no. DL/RDCC 15/06
